Unsolicited user comments on The Crucible Fuzz

I thought your mod of my Jim Dunlop fuzzface was a huge improvement. Then I plugged in the Crucible Fuzz; now the Dunlop is going right back on the shelf where it had sat for the last 10 years! The audio quality, high end transparency, and crunchy goodness of the Crucible is far superior to what was possible within the limitations of the Dunlop.

had the pleasure of test-driving the Euthymia Electronics Crucible Fuzz last night. wow. impressive.

if you love fuzzes, you'll love the Crucible. if you thought you didn't like fuzz, you'll love the Crucible. in the builder's own words, "It's not supposed to provide 'warm tube tone' or 'subtle boost' or any of that. It's supposed to make your axe scream, crunch, crush, kill, and destroy."

it sounds nothing like slit-speaker '60s fuzz. no hissy, anemic, trebly fuzz. it's got balls. big brass ones. playing a P-90 gtr through a Fender Champ sounded outrageous -- a pinch of compression, nice, natural-souding sustain, and saturation for days. really fucking cool.

i also tried erik's linear (clean) booster. if yr looking for a completely transparent boost pedal, this is it. not sure if that's available just yet.

i'll be picking up a Crucible just as soon as the bank acc't. allows. i suggest you do the same.

Just got it today! Teeheehee. Didn't get as much time to fiddle with it as I would have liked, but... It's such an awesome pedal. Fat and searing, with great sustain. Cleans up pretty well, especially considering the amount of fuzz on tap. Only tried it with humbuckers, Strat's in the shop, and through a Trace Elliot Vellocette, with the volume up halfway on both the amp and pedal. Very, very reminiscent of Hendrix. Does not like my Colorsound wah before it, but after, I seem to be able to get Jeff Beck Truth vommiting wah tones better than with my Tone-bender style pedals. Before the fuzz, it loses all of the lower frequencies and most of the vocalness. Maxed, the low end is too splattery for rhythm, but back the volume off a bit for great rhythm sounds. Maxed, this pedal rules for leads. So far no radio signals!! Noise levels are fairly low, less noise than my Soulbender, but I've never been bothered by the hum of vintage effects, so... I'm extremely happy with this pedal! Great looking, well made, and very reasonably priced! Highly recommended if you're looking for a silicon fuzz-this is my first, and possibly my last. My new fav fuzz!

Just wanted to mention that this thing kicks serious butt!! The thing I'm most impressed with is the ability to get those saturated blistering tones and almost no volume level. I've tried it with a cranked no name 5 watt tremolo amp and with a couple fender amps which I had at just enough volume to sound. I'm anxious to see what this thing does to a cranked amp.
Do you make anything else?

(later, after further testing)
Best F-ing Fuzz Pedal in the Universe. And I've owned the original Maestro!!
